1. Describe the current environment regarding workers’ compensation insurance in Mississippi and the challenges of 2020 and what information can be gained from the past year.
2. Demonstrate how the new flag of Mississippi has benefited the business community in Mississippi – bringing new jobs and new employees needing work comp and health insurance – and identify the tedious legislative process it took to bring the flag to fruition.
3. Describe the current environment regarding healthcare and health insurance in Mississippi and the challenges of 2020 and what information can be gained from the experience.
4. Analyze recent cases and trends affecting work comp in Mississippi. Compare and contrast different viewpoints of three administrative judges from the Mississippi Work Comp Commission.
5. Identify guidelines in facilitating necessary pain management treatment while avoiding unnecessary or inappropriate interventions.
6. Define national trends in the work self-insured comp insurance industry and examine how these national trends could lead to developments in the Mississippi marketplace.
7. Discuss the evolving world of digital health by observing digital therapeutics and their difference from digital health apps and websites. Discuss ways to include digital therapeutics into an employer-sponsored health plans to give greater resources for providers and patients.
8. Identify the trends and lessons learned from other states in the management of medical marijuana and how those lessons could apply to the use of the substance in Mississippi’s work comp and health insurance industry.
9. Analyze the long-term health effects and persistent symptoms of the coronavirus and how COVID will continue to affect those in work comp and health insurance.
