MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — October 6, 2026 — The Commission® joins the American Case Management Association (ACMA) in celebrating National Case Management Week, October 11–17, 2026, under the theme “Driving Outcomes.”

The theme recognizes the impact case managers have across health and human services — from improving care coordination and helping individuals navigate complex systems to impacting the decisions, behaviors and circumstances that can improve health and quality of life over time. As client advocacy professionals, case managers bring expertise, problem-solving and a person-centered focus to their work every day, driving meaningful results for patients, members, families, clients and communities.

“Not every meaningful outcome can be captured on a spreadsheet,” said Margaret Brown, DHA, RN, CCM, chair of The Commission. “By understanding their circumstances and actively listening, client advocacy professionals help their clients navigate increasingly complex systems, guiding them and supporting them as they make decisions about their health and well-being. During National Case Management Week, we recognize the impact of advocacy and celebrate the commitment case managers bring to the people they serve every day.”

As part of National Case Management Week, The Commission will host its 2026 Virtual Symposium, October 13–15, bringing together case managers, disability management specialists and other client advocacy professionals for continuing education and connection. The virtual event provides opportunities to explore timely issues affecting case management and disability management while learning from experts and peers across practice settings.

The Commission also encourages client advocacy professionals to use National Case Management Week as an opportunity to consider using their knowledge and experience by volunteering throughout the year to strengthen the profession.

“The Commission relies on volunteers who understand what this work is about firsthand,” said Brown, who has volunteered with The Commission for four years. “We want professionals to recognize that they can get involved and contribute. You have experience, perspective and something to say. Through The Commission’s volunteer opportunities, we will help you find a way to bring that forward to make the profession stronger.”

The Commission offers a variety of opportunities for CCM® and CDMS® certificants to become involved. Professionals interested in contributing their expertise can learn more and express interest at yourcommission.org/volunteer-opportunities.
